Green Day is back on stage with the Hella Mega Tour , and in a recent intimate show in Dallas, as a warm-up, the band performed a cover of KISS .

The surprise thrilled the audience, who sang along to the chorus and cheered for the punk rock band. The performance received approval not only from KISS's official Twitter , but also from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley .

While the legendary band's profile posted a clip of the performance and described it as "VERY cool," Simmons thanked the "gentlemen" while Stanley wrote, "Another reason to love Green Day." Check it out:
